The first example of a highly water-tolerant, hydrophobic polymer coated metal oxide catalyst systems is reported for CO oxidation. Studies show that protected catalysts have 5.3 times longer lifetimes than unprotected catalysts under highly humid conditions. This idea is simple and general for many different metal oxide catalyst systems.en_US
